As some of you know, I used Lexie’s cremains to create my tattoo and shortly after that, I had a bone fragment from her implanted under it. A few months later, during the kayak trip, that chip worked it’s way to the surface and came out. (mentioned here) I saved it.
Next month, the creator of subdermal himself- Steve Haworth, will be performing the procedure himself. This time the bone fragment will be encapsulated in medical grade silicone and surgically implanted below the dermis.
I am so thankful to be able to get that bone fragment back inside of me and thankful for the many people who, through their own desire for self-expression and forward thinking, have made this possible for me to do this. So next time you’re walking down the street and see someone that doesn’t quite fit in, remember that they may be the very key to something that changes your in the future. These people, on the fringe of society are also on the fringe of cutting edge thinking. For only on the fringe can you see what is beyond – what is possible.
I know many of you will freak out over this – again, but I urge you to look at this as an artistic self-expression; one that brings peace and comfort to me and perhaps someday, you as well as Steve can encapsulate and implant your loved ones ashes. There is no better way than to prove Forever than to actually be Forever Together.
Thank You Steve Haworth for this opportunity.
